Chris is Chief Executive Officer of brightsolid Online Innovation. Through its publishing division, the company owns a number of Internet websites including Friends Reunited and also one of the world's largest Internet family history companies with brands such as Scotlands People, find my past and Genes Reunited. brightsolid’s Online Technology division is one of the country’s leaders in IT managed hosting and ‘private’ cloud solutions. He is also Chairman of the Tayforth group and Chairman of 4J Studios, a next generation video game development studio. Chris is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading technology entrepreneurs. He is also a regular contributor to the 21st century business and enterprise agenda through a variety of conference keynote speaking engagements and media coverage. Chris is a member of the Global Leaders of Tomorrow Programme at the World Economic Forum. Chris embraces the spirit of ‘giving something back’ and is fully committed to building the next generation of business people by encouraging enterprise education in schools, colleges and universities. As one of the youngest Fellows of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Chris sat as a member of the Scottish Scientific Advisory Committee for eight years. In 2011 he was elected to the Council at the RSE as Young People’s Convener and appointed to the Board of The Scottish Institute for Enterprise. Chris also chairs the Development Advisory Board at Napier University and is a Director of Dundee Science Centre.
